Who we are
Shando operates an online marketplace that connects people who need tasks done (customers) with independent service providers (taskers). Shando is not a party to the service agreement between a customer and a tasker, does not employ taskers and does not perform the services.
Accounts
You must be 18 or older, give accurate information and keep your login secure. Customers must verify their email address and, before their first booking, their mobile number. Taskers must complete verification and be approved before accepting paid work.
Posting tasks and making offers
Tasks must fall within an enabled category for the state or territory where the work will be done (for remote tasks, the customer’s state). Licensed or restricted work (including electrical, plumbing, gas, building, asbestos, childcare, personal care, security and passenger transport) is not permitted.
An offer is the total price the customer will pay for the described work, including any materials the tasker supplies.
Bookings and payment
A booking is confirmed only when payment has been successfully processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Payments are collected into Shando’s Stripe account and released to the tasker after the job is completed and the review window has passed, or after a dispute is resolved. Funds held pending release are not held in a trust or escrow account.
Customers pay the booking fee displayed before payment, as set out on the Pricing page. Taskers pay the Shando commission (plus any GST on it) shown on the Pricing page, deducted from the payment they receive. Lower rates for eligible repeat bookings apply only where shown before booking.
Cancellations, refunds and disputes
Cancellation and refund rules are set out in the Cancellations and refunds policy. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Off-platform payments
To keep both parties protected, arrange and pay for tasks found on Shando through Shando. Contact details are hidden in messages until a booking is paid.
Reviews
Reviews may only be left by the parties to a completed, paid booking and must be honest. We may remove reviews that breach our community guidelines.
Suspension
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, put others at risk, or are used for fraud. We will tell you why unless doing so would create a safety or legal risk, and you can ask for a review by contacting support.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Shando is not liable for the quality or outcome of services performed by taskers. Our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited as permitted by the Australian Consumer Law.
