How Shando works

A marketplace connecting people who need jobs done with independent local taskers.

For customers

    Post a task

    Describe the job, choose a category, add your suburb, a date and a budget. Posting is free. Your street address stays private.

  2. 2

    Get offers

    Approved taskers who cover your area send offers with their price and a message. Ask questions in Shando messages.

  3. 3

    Accept and pay

    Choose an offer and pay by card through Stripe. The booking is confirmed only when Stripe confirms the payment.

  4. 4

    Job done

    Your tasker marks the job complete with photos. Confirm it, or report a problem. If you don’t respond within 72 hours, the booking completes automatically.

    Review

    Leave a review. Only customers with a completed, paid booking can review a tasker.

    Create a profile, choose services and areas, verify your mobile, add tax details and verify your identity and bank with Stripe.

    Get approved

    Shando reviews every tasker before they can take paid work.

    Make offers

    See tasks in your services and areas and send offers. Offers are free.

    Do the job

    Once the customer pays, you see the address. Complete the job and upload photos.

    Get paid

    Payment is released 48 hours after completion (the customer review window), less the 15% Shando commission (plus any GST on it). Stripe pays it to your bank.

Become a tasker

How payments are held

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay for a booking, the money is collected into Shando's Stripe account and is not sent to the tasker until the job is completed and the review window has passed, or a dispute is resolved. This is not a trust or escrow account.

If the tasker cancels, you get a full refund. If something goes wrong, raise a dispute before the payment is released and Shando support will review the evidence from both sides.
