Cancellations and refunds

What happens when plans change or something goes wrong.

Draft

This document is a draft and is being reviewed by Australian legal advisers. It will be updated before Shando opens to the public.

Before payment

Either party can cancel an accepted offer before payment is made. No money changes hands.

Tasker cancels a paid booking

The customer receives a full refund automatically and the task reopens for new offers.

Customer cancels a paid booking

More than 24 hours before the scheduled date, and before work has started, customers can cancel for a full refund. Within 24 hours, or once work has started, raise a dispute with the reason “cancellation” and support will decide a fair outcome.

Problems with the work

If the work is not done as described, raise a dispute from the booking before confirming completion or before the payment is released. Payment is held while support reviews the evidence. Outcomes include releasing payment, a partial refund or a full refund.

Refund timing

Refunds go back to the original card. Most banks show them within 5–10 business days.

Your consumer rights

These rules do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including rights to a remedy when a service does not meet a consumer guarantee.
